so eve experienced her first toy last night. we bought this monkey while e-$ was pregnant and s/he (still waiting on a name and gender from evesie-pups, though i am suspicious that all toys will be 'pups' named 'eve fehskens' if we leave it up to her) has been sitting patiently waiting for discovery. the monkey was a big hit -- eve ended up hugging it and falling asleep while erin and i watched 'the bourne supremacy.' not a bad saturday night -- spies and simians.

i think eve took so mightily to the monkey because it reflects her own bodily proportions at the moment--freakishly long legs and arms. the adorable pink sleeper that she sports in the final picture of this triptych is a 3 month size item. while her tremendous milk belly doesn't fill out the middle, her legs and arms extend the full length of their openings. her feet also fill the feet holes. oh dear, she has her mama's boats. let's hope she doesn't get e.m.'s arches.

Be still, my heart! Erin! No "freakishly long legs and arms" comments allowed! Start practicing now, she'll be a teenager soon. "tremendous milk belly." Sally and Mary Grace would stay in their rooms for days. "Mama's boats." She's so cute! She loves the monkey! At least she doesn't look liker her buffalo.
